About Mary Lou Hand Sculpted Santas and Dolls...

As  an artist I do my best to produce Santas and Dolls that reflect my best work. I started out drawing as a child and moved on to almost every craft that came down the pike! From macrame to floral arrangements and on to cloth dolls.

Then at a Christmas craft show about 10 years ago I visited with a fellow crafter who was making Santas out of polymer clay and decided to give it a try. My first ones looked like Alien beings!! I am self taught, studying peoples faces and constantly trying to improve my work. I try to pay special attention to proportion.

I am proud to have pieces in Europe, Australia and all over the United States. Five of my Santas were reproduced by Enesco Co.

Searching yard sales, flea markets and thrift stores for old quilts, furs and miniatures to  use  only make the process more fun! My pieces are now sold at stores in Idaho, Oregon and Arizona and at the many shows I attend.
